The sweet memories of our happy days of growing up in Wadhwan City…

The sweet memories of our happy days of growing up in Wadhwan City. Living in the same neighbourhood, playing in and around Wagheshwari Mandir and on the dry hot river sands in the summer, our group of friends went to Naaradbhai Ni Vaav for diving and swimming. Also exercising on the bank of river Bhogavo in the early hours of each morning before sunrise on nippy cold winter days. From primary school to high school we were together until you left Wadhwan for Africa. Those good old day’s memories are as sharp and fresh today as if I am there with you all.

We met again in Nairobi just for a while on one or two occasions. The political changes in the East Africa compelled us to emigrate to the U.K. Not knowing the whereabouts of each other, fortunately, we met again and that too accidentally in Selfridges, Oxford Street in the early '70's!!

Going back to Wadhwan, We had more than a dozen friends in Wagheshwari Chowk. Except two or three, sadly, almost all of them have taken the abode of the Heaven and now you also have taken the path to join them. For us now, living with the wonderful memories of the happy days gone by, is the only way to remember you, my dear childhood friend Pushker. May you rest in the eternal peace in Heaven.
I shall miss you very much.
